How well does the team know the outline of the roadmap?

I don't think we really thought about it WOTLK Gold all that much. With Legion, we had a pretty holistic plan of making sure that we had a lot of patches to release; frequently for that content train to depart the station. The patch could be providing a new outdoor area for questing or a fresh raid, or just some added content, or class updates like the ones we've seen plenty from in 7.2.5. We knew that those patches were expected to be released regularly, so 7.2.5 seemed to end at around that E3 date, but it's probably more coincidence than anything else.

And it has become such an ongoing stream of content. You'll feel as if you're almost on a well-oiled machine at this moment.

It's somewhat oily. I mean, there's still plenty of effort involved in every one of these tiny patches whether small or large, but yes, we're really happy that we were able to till now we've been able to provide a lot of patches. 7.2 was just a few days back; we've just arrived at Broken Shore, and have been working towards The Tomb of Sargeras. In 7.2.5 we'll get that raid to open as well as a few other pieces of content appearing the same way, whether it's an Chromie-related scenario, fresh micro-holidays that are new, brawls, and so forth.

How well does the team know the outline of the roadmap? It's obvious that for 7.2.5 you're aware of the events coming up, but for ones later on, are you guys partly playing it by ear and observing how things play out?

It's really a matter of. It's not like we work on one patch at one time. We have a variety of different wheels spinning. And how much head start you get on the wheel will depend on the size of the wheel. For something like 7.2 which was being working on when Legion was being launched or maybe slightly before it.

For something like 7.2.5 The team who is working on it is a little bit more agile. We're able to respond more to what the game requires, so if that's the case with a specific modification in a mechanic that is used in classes, we are able to change the mechanic. If it's just selecting the cheap WOTLK Classic Gold appropriate time to allow players to unlock the Tomb of Sargeras to be opened to be unlocked, we'll make those changes, as well as just adding content.
